Super shocking because I have been a shopper for years was always one of my favorite stores and i must say the last few times i have gone makes me sad

Stephanie the store manager is rude, and unprofessional and should not be in retail. The worst shopping experience I've ever had.
I approached the register 6 mins after closing, and Stephanie rudely informed me she wouldn't let me check out, the register is closed, and immediately instructed an employee to escort me out.
I was stunned that I left my reusable bag. 3 employees saw me shopping and never mentioned the register would be closed. I walked out so upset. The next day, I realized I had to go back because my reusable back was sentimental and I wanted it.
I called the store at least 30 times to make sure they had it and to get the name of the manager. I arrived at 3:15 pm, approached an employee I recognized, and asked for my bag. She said she didn't know. She did not attempt to help whatsoever and then asked why no one answers the phone.
She said because we are busy. This woman was doing go-backs. I left upset again, went to the 99cent store, and came back. Come find out the lady who rudely kicked me out the night before was the store ma after.
I was stunned again, got to the point since she had a miserable look on her face, and asked for my bag. She rudely pointed to register 4. It was there the whole time and no one attempted to help me retrieve it. The gave me the impression that it was in the office or something.
I got my bag, approached Stephanie, and assertively and sternly let her know how unprofessional and rude she is. She yelled over me and wouldn't let me talk and yelled over and over "have a nice day"
This was the worst experience I've ever had.
Stephanie is not qualified to be a manager much less work in retail with people. Do

- Very disorganized
Preferred solution: Apology, acknowledgment, and Stephanie reprimanded for her horrible attitude. A courtesy credit in addition is the only way I would return to that store. Corporate needs to be aware as well as the district and regional managers.

Waited for store to open for 1 1/2 hours
I arrived at the store in whitesburg Ky 41537 at 9:00. I get out of the car and theres two employees standing outside the store waiting to get in also.
They proceed to tell me that the manager has never showed up to open the store and wont answer his phone. So I told them I would wait. I go back to my car and wait for 1 1/2 hours before he shows up. Mind you several other customers have pulled up during this time and pull out.
I think I deserve a gift card for the inconvenience of waiting so long for the store to open. I dont live near there so I had no choice but to wait. I was needing something important. Im not sure I will be back to this Dollar tree because if the management doesnt show up on time my time is important to be.
And by the way the bathrooms were nasty. This store needs attention.

The two employees that saw me and my wife come in the store said allowed over the store intercom manager to security cameras after which we paid for our items which were quite a few items and left the store and when we got in our car the police followed us until we got off Dollar trees lot thoroughly searched our bags and then decided to search the rest of our belongings the whole incident is causing me up to $700 because I was racially profiled by a white person in a white town in the store I've been going to my whole life this is not okay my family is one of the only black families in this town and we have never been disrespected quite this bad financially and publicly because we will put on display by the police in a very public area. I am a military veteran and I am disabled me and my brothers can go and die for this country and come back and still be treated like this.
Preferred solution: I want an apology and the money that this is costing me which is letting everything go off easy and cheap I would like to file a civil suit but I'm not going to do that until I see how you react and resolve this issue.
User's recommendation: I don't recommend black people shop at the store and I recommend the white people who are not racist should not stop at the store either I'm on military veteran of disabled vet at that some things are just ridiculous.
I see why you are losing customers!
4 lane lights open no cashiers, finally one came, could not get logged in another came over, still could not get logged in, called another over who after 5 minutes finally got logged in. Then got charged tax, after entrance sign saying grocery tax tree till end of month, on a same item that twice in the last couple months I did not get charged tax for.
All the manager said was it charged you tax so that's what it is, without checking to see if it was right or not or that the new cashier hit a wrong button or not. I notice that customers have been far in between since they raised prices above 1 dollar and this one item is the only thing I have bought here since the price changes. I think I will stop buying here like so many other customers are doing. Wal Mart makes mistakes too but at least they are willing to make their mistakes right with the customer.
The reason people flocked to Dollar Tree in the past was that they thought it was on their side holding prices down and even sometimes bargain prices.
Now they have showed people that they are just as greedy as the rest of the other companies. Now their managers are to lazy to even make sure things are being done right!!!
Preferred solution: Make sure that if the State is reducing tax burden for a month that Dollar Tree does not try to screw the customer and profit off of the already to much tax burdened customer.

Your refund policy. I was told I had to have my receipt, no problem BUT YOUR COMPANY STILL WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY.!! You had NO PROBLEM TAKING IT

You approached the register SIX MINUTES AFTER CLOSING. You should have just left and come back when they were open.NO is NOT the SAME as RUDE.
If you could use your head, you would know that the registers are closed when the store is closed. Kicking you out of the store AFTER CLOSING is NOT rude. She was NOT being unprofessional. You have NO RIGHT telling her how to do her job.
Nothing wrong with her qualifications. You need to act your age and follow rules. I bet the reason that you were stunned was because this is the first time someone said no to you, and you mistook that as rude. Stephanie did nothing wrong, so she owes you no apology, nor should she be reprimanded.
You cannot come while they are open, falsely accuse them of being rude when you don't get your way. What makes you think that they want you back?

No one is going to have any sympathy for you. It is horrible you were shopping at closing time . Hopefully you learned your lesson.

A person like the OP would have got an attitude. Brilliant at six minutes after closing they simply said the register was closed.
Not her fault. Probably the way that her parents raised her.
